The stage is set for India’s tour of New Zealand, which begins on October 22. During this tour, Team India will compete in a five-match T20I series, a five-match ODI series, and a two-match Test series. If India aims to deliver its best performance on this tour, it will need to play at its absolute peak.
A tour of New Zealand has always been a formidable challenge for India. Once again, the eyes of Indian cricket fans will be on the experienced Mohammed Siraj; his performance could well be the key to India’s success.
Meanwhile, ahead of the tour, former New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee has weighed in on the challenge posed by Mohammed Siraj. He noted that Siraj could prove to be a significant threat to the Kiwi batters during the series.
Tim Southee has weighed in on the challenge posed by Mohammed Siraj
Speaking to Sony Sports Network regarding India’s tour of New Zealand, Southee remarked, “I think New Zealand has performed exceptionally well against Bumrah in Test cricket. I don’t believe Bumrah has ever been part of an Indian side that has defeated New Zealand. Consequently, I feel New Zealand tends to perform remarkably well against him in Test matches.”

Southee added, “I am a huge fan of Mohammed Siraj and his bowling. If he can consistently hit the right lengths in New Zealand, he could pose a major problem for the batters. Given the energy he brings, his tireless effort throughout the day, and the type of bowler he is, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be highly successful in New Zealand conditions. There are, in fact, many aspects of his game that I really admire.”
