In February and March of 2027, England Women will travel to Sri Lanka for a six-match white-ball series. Three Twenty20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals will be played in conjunction with the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in India. It was confirmed on October 21, 2026.
In January 2027, Charlotte Edwards‘ team will travel to India for a red-ball training camp prior to the start of the international window. The players chosen for that camp will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
The Champions Trophy comes after the ODI leg, and the T20I leg comes before it in the tour’s structure. With the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy scheduled to take place in India from February 14 to February 28, 2027, England will have ample time to prepare before the multi-nation competition and will be able to resume bilateral cricket after it is over.
Kandy will serve as the venue for all three T20Is. The tour begins with England on February 1, 2027, followed by a second match on February 3 and a third on February 5. Before focusing on the Champions Trophy, the touring party can settle in by keeping the T20I leg at a single location.
Following the conclusion of the Indian tournament on February 28, England will return to Sri Lanka for the ODI series, which will take place in Dambulla in the north. March 4, 2027, is the date of the first ODI; March 6 and 8 are the dates of the second and third. As a result, the entire tour takes place between February 1 and March 8, 2027, with the Champions Trophy window in between the two series.
What is the larger picture for women in England before this tour?
England’s recent performance is impressive as they travel to Sri Lanka. They defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the previous ODI series, and Sophia Dunkley’s second international century in the last game was the campaign’s best individual moment.
The memory of the home T20 World Cup, where they advanced to the final but were soundly defeated by Australia at Lord’s, will also serve as inspiration for Edwards’ team. The team has a clear benchmark thanks to their runners-up performance as they prepare for the Champions Trophy and the matches against Sri Lanka that follow.
