Bhuvneshwar Kumar is expected to pose a serious threat in the upcoming five-match Twenty20 International series, which will start on October 22 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, according to New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner. After a nearly four-year absence, Bhuvneshwar rejoins the T20I team, contributing experience to India’s pace attack alongside Varun Chakravarthy, who is recuperating from injury. Santner made his remarks prior to the series’ opening game, which will take place over 11 days in four different cities.

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and other important players make up the touring team led by India captain Shreyas Iyer. The series will take place in various locations throughout New Zealand until November 1. I believe Bhuvi will adore New Zealand’s climate. He will extract something from the wicket if there is anything in it. Even on some flat ones in India, the player is still able to swing and nip the ball.
He will therefore be difficult, particularly with the new ball out here. As we saw in the most recent series [against the West Indies], bowling in India is quite difficult these days, with 250 being chased down. Who wants to be a bowler? Santner was quoted as saying, “But he might prefer it out here a little better.”
Bhuvneshwar’s importance to the Indian team was also highlighted by Shreyas Iyer. Bhuvneshwar adds a lot of experience to the pace department, which India felt needed after the IPL, according to the captain of India. Iyer cited Bhuvneshwar’s recent triumph in the competition as evidence of his proficiency with the T20 format. As you mentioned, Bhuvi brings a wealth of experience to the team.
We lacked that, particularly with so many new bowlers after the IPL. Iyer stated, “If you look at Bhuvi’s career graph over the past two years, you can see that he has also won the IPL, so he knows exactly how to dominate this format.
India’s batting prowess is equally known to New Zealand. In their most recent encounter, which took place in the T20 World Cup final in March, India won by 96 runs thanks to scorching half-centuries from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan. In addition to these three, India can also rely on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s early genius.
I have personally witnessed Sooryavanshi’s skill in the IPL, even though he obviously didn’t play in India’s most recent series against the West Indies. “I think it’s one of those things where we know how good he is, and then the guys who are playing are also doing very well,” Santner stated.

“The power at the top that India has, Sanju and Abhishek have done really well.”Whether he plays in this series or not, I believe he has a significant role to play for India going forward. We’ve seen what he can do, and it’s been difficult for guys to stop him if he gets a chance in this series. We’ve seen how aggressive he can be in the IPL, so we have some plans for him if he happens to play,” he continued. “I know England, in the series away, went quite short and hard at many of the Indian batters,” he continued.
