The Bangladesh cricket team has suffered a major blow during the ongoing ODI triangular series in the UAE. Captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the entire series due to an injury. Alongside Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are also participating in this tournament. In Litton’s absence, vice-captain Towhid Hridoy has been entrusted with the team’s captaincy.
Litton Das fails fitness test
Litton Das had to be withdrawn from the squad just before the match against Zimbabwe. He was set to begin his new role as the regular ODI captain in this match; however, he failed his fitness test due to pain in his right hip.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan stated that Litton complained of pain in his right hip joint on Friday. An MRI scan was subsequently conducted, which confirmed the injury.
Litton Das attempted a fitness test to determine his availability for the match but failed to meet the required standards. Consequently, the decision was made to rule him out of the entire series.
Bangladesh’s troubles do not end there. Star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been suffering from a fever for the past three days, which prevented him from playing in the match against Zimbabwe.

Match against Afghanistan on October 21
In the absence of Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy faces the challenge of leading the team to a strong performance. Bangladesh’s next match is against Afghanistan on October 21. It remains to be seen whether Miraz will be fit in time for that encounter.
